After getting some things done around the place, Pat comes to me and said “ How about a picnic at the lake with some fishing? “ Yahoo, lets go!
As we unload the boat, we hear the Loons calling! Hurry up and let’s get out to where they are at. They are really cool birds, boy can they swim a long ways under water. I think that they are in the duck family; I will have to do some research on that. Do you know the legend about the Loon and it’s necklace?? Please put it in the comment page if you do!
We head out to the far end of the lake, stopping first to say hello to Dolores and Alayna, then traveling on our way.
We find a nice place at the far end by a creek, it has a nice gravel bank to pull up on. On shore there are lots of wild Shooting Stars. This is a great place for our lunch.
Now everybody thinks that Alaska has cold water, well this is warm here in the shallows.
I am walking around picking up some plastic bags, and an old bucket. Hey, maybe I will transplant some Shooting stars to my place!
Lily pads. I think that they are really unique.
Pat got several nice little fish. This little guy was too small and had to go back and grow up some more. This trip we didn’t catch any fish that made the 11” in length.
Pat sure did a good job rowing the boat around.
Now, behind those glasses, is he watching or sleeping at the wheel?
To finish off a great day at the lake, we motor into the boat ramp and find this eagle resting in the tree. They are sure big and beautiful birds!
We had a great time and can’t wait to get back to the lake. No big fish but lots of fun!
Stay tuned!!!!!!
