This trip is long overdue. Bruce and Pam’s anniversary trip was to go and have a picnic at Memorial Beach. The anniversary was July 4. We FINALLY got to do it and it sure was fun!
Pat is waiting with the Dutch oven.
Pam is getting the briquettes ready to go.
This is a very nice trail to the beach and to some campgrounds.
Lots of old growth spruce in this area. Oh, they are so nice to look at.
Pam is putting lunch together: beef roast, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, yellow peppers, corn on the cob ( in foil) and Pam’s special sauce!
Now how does this look?
Bruce doing his job! Putting briquettes on the Dutch oven to cook the food.
Pat decided to make a fire in the pit. Well it took lots of blowing to get it going.
Don’t get smoked out Pat!
Well, as the story goes some people moved out of the best picnic spot, so we moved our lunch to the best area! Yes, you got it. That nice fire that Pat was making ~ done! The briquettes moved by Bruce. It was worth the move in the end just for the view.
Pat gathering shavings for a new fire. Hope that it gets going better.
Now is that a briquette in the fire Pat?
After the long awaiting hour~~ the lunch is finally done! Oh, boy it looks yummy!
What a nice day with some great friends!
How yummy is this lunch! The food was so good, the sun was out and the view was unbelievable.
After a nice visit we decide to put the fire out and head back towards home. Pat and Bruce find a nice tub that was left here. They get a load of water and bring it to the fire.
It is always best to put your fire out before you leave the area. Now Smokey Bear would be proud of you guys!
Bruce and Pam, you are great friends! We had a great time with you this summer.
Pat and I will remember all the fun times that we have had this summer. Not many more blogs to go from up here, as summer is winding down fast. Keep in touch as I will try really hard to finish off the blog before I go back to Oregon!
