Lookin' Out My Back Door

Coho Chalet made it through the winter!
Now to unpack and get things ready for the summer months!

Wanted to add CCR song Lookin' Out my Back door but can't figure it out just yet!

Stay tuned for the coming weeks blog! And if anyone can help me out with adding music to this that would be great!

Bye for now!

The Adventure Begins!

The Adventure Begins!

<*)))<<     <*///<<

Well ~~ as the story goes! We find out that the Columbia is broke down. The Taku will arrive from Portland, where it was in dry dock for 5 months for repairs. Needless to say it was not ready for the passengers to board. The Taku is a lot smaller than the Columbia. Several passengers and vehicles  were turned away from boarding. We do find out that we can get our truck on the ferry , but the bad news is we will not have a stateroom! Now let’s do some thinking? We have been down that road before with no room! We head off to Walmart and buy some sleeping bags, and some air mattresses for the trip. We still have our name on the waiting list for a stateroom though.

The good news is that we got to look around Bellingham and Fairhaven. They had a nice little fair going on and lots of good food and music to listen too. Made the day and half go a lot faster.

As we board at 8:00 on Saturday night we find that all the rooms are all taken and our room is Deck D1 & D2, for Dumb and Dumber.(Actually on the upper deck, in the open solarium.) Next time we need to make reservations earlier in the year.

We had planned to bring our food to eat on the ferry, now we just don’t have a place to store it during the day time. Just to let you know, we did eat plenty of food on the trip though!

Meet some nice people on the ferry also. It sure did make the time more enjoyable in the evening hours. We meet up and had a couple of drinks in the Taku Lounge and plenty of stories were told.

We did get on our Inter-Island Ferry on time. We are looking forward to a nice trip to POW and the drive to Coho Chalet.

Keep in touch for the next blog!

Packed then UnPacked ~ What the heck ~ Lets Go!

Time to go to Alaska again!
This is the summer of 2011.
Hope you enjoy the blog!

Do you know how many times that we packed this truck? To many times! We had a lot of things to take and we were pushing the weight limit to the max. So after going through many boxes we decided to leave some beer, 2 boat motors, some can chili that was going to a freind for the weanie wagon at Neck Outlet, boat oars, pop, and several other things...........

Reba is anxious to get going, as she is walking around and watching us at all times. Do you think that she knows that she is going back to the bad land where the deer chase her around? Just hope that she makes the trip fine, as she is getting old.

Finally we got to a weight that we are satisfited with. 10,100 pounds. WOW...

I will really try and get some photos of the ferry. Getting them posted will be another thing. It might be days before I get internet access again.

Thanks Steve Brown for the fish design.
